Create A Showit Account

Uploading your template to your Showit account is a simple process! You will need a Showit account and your unique Share Key code, which can be found in your order confirmation email. Below you'll find the complete template installation instructions.

Template Installation

To maintain the design aesthetic and the setting presets of your text, I recommend editing the text blocks rather than deleting and uploading new text blocks.

DESIGN TIP:

If at any point you want to undo a change you've made. You can utilize the Undo and Redo buttons located at the bottom right hand corner of your screen.

As you make adjustments to your template, double check both the desktop and mobile views to ensure your changes are displaying properly.

GOOD TO KNOW:

If you wish to change the fonts and sizes of all headings, subheadings, and paragraphs across all pages, you can do so on the Design Settings page. Read more about how to do that here. (PLEASE NOTE: changing these settings will affect the design across your entire template.)

How to change font Settings across all pages

To change the font, size, color, letter spacing, line height, or alignment, select the text box and then click on the "Text Style" tab in the right side panel. There you will see options to change all of the above. To split the text styles between desktop and mobile view, hover over one of the settings and click on the three dots (⋮), then select "Split Mobile & Desktop." To learn how to upload your own custom font, read this article. For more information on text properties, view Showit's help page here.

How to change the font

To add a heading, subheading, or paragraph, select the canvas in which you want to add text. Then hover over "Add Element" and select your preferred text block.

How to Add A New Text Block

To adjust the size of your text block, select the text block. Click on one of the dots along the perimeter and drag it to your desired position. To move the text block, simply drag and drop it to your desired location.

All the text in your template is fully customizable - from the words you write to the fonts, colors, and sizes. To edit the text, simply click once on the text block, then double click within the text block and add your own words.

Changing The Text

While I recommend swapping photos to preserve the layout of your template, you may find that you want to upload additional photos to your template. To do so, hover over "Add Element" and select "Open Media Library" to select (or upload) a new photo.

How to Add A New Photo

To change the background image or video on a page canvas, click on the image, then select the "Canvas Background" tab in the right panel. Click on the image preview to open your Media Library and select a new photo or video. If you wish, you can change the background media type to image, video, or none (which will convert the background to a color).

How to change The Background Image

To change the photos within your template, select the image you want to swap. The "Image" module in the right panel will open. Click the "Swap Image" button and you will be taken to your Media Library where you can select a new photo.

The Media Library is where you can find all your images, videos, and PDF's. To upload images to your Media Library, click "Media Library" in the upper left hand corner of your screen. Then select "Upload Files" in the lower left corner of the page.

Upload Photos

Some templates include an Instagram social grid that displays your most recent Instagram posts. You will need to connect the social grid to your Instagram account. To do so, click once on the social grid block and then click "Connect Instagram" in the right panel. Follow the onscreen instructions to connect your Instagram account.

Connecting a social grid to your Instagram Account

Various pages in your template include social icons that will link to your social media. I have already connected the icons to the appropriate social platforms for you. All you need to do is add your social media URLs to your Showit account so the links work properly. To do so, click "Site Settings" and select "Social" on the left side of the pop-up. Here you can input the full URLs for all your social media channels. Click "Save." Now all the social icons throughout your website will link to your social media accounts. To change or add a new social icon, read this article and then read this article to link it properly.
